National Talent Gala

The Tunaweza Foundation under a project called Young Enterprising and Able organizes an annual open day event for exhibition for PWDs. The purpose of this event is to identify and inspire talented women and girls to understand and attach value to entrepreneurship and their business sense to what they produce. Activities for the event includes art and craft goodies, jewelry, home economics and baking confectionery as well as cloth making and tailoring and the agenda is through: open exhibition, selling of products to the public, inspiration and motivation from members of the business world.

Inclusive Education

In partnership with secondary schools and KCCA, Tunaweza Foundation do inclusive awareness training in schools. These training mainly help to change the attitudes of students and school staff about students with different disabilities. We also have a project called Every Child Needs Education (ECNE) under leaving no one behind which looks at students who have passed the primary level but can’t afford high education. Here as Tunaweza we look for schools that could reduce on the tuition fees for students with disabilities. We also look for scholarships and sponsors for those who can’t afford financially their studies so that they can get a chance to high education.

Peer to Peer Counselling

This is a new approach of motivating start -up business groups. We have network sessions where both new starts-ups and already working groups come together in one space to share ideas, brainstorm and learn.

Practical Skills Acquistion

Tunaweza Foundation is working with the women and girls in development of practical skills. We work with different groups where we train them in entrepreneurial skills such as mushroom growing, poultry farming, liquid soap, hand gel and shampoo making, candle making, crafts making and baking of confectionery.

Provision OF SIYB Training

Tunaweza Foundation facilitates UGANDA INTER-UNIVERSITY Entrepreneurship Training for Youth with Disability. This is a one week event with sessions on business start-ups and management skills for university students across the country and targeting over 50 beneficiaries per year.

Design Thinking Hub

It’s a space where all the university students come together to acquire knowledge and skills on their career, dream jobs, life after campus, business start-ups and management skills. Here students come in an Idea Generation Sessions where new innovations are birthed and created through design thinking in line with technology, human needs and existing services.

Inclusive Health Advocacy

Tunaweza Foundation is a member of Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn, Child and Adolescent Health (RMNCAH) Platform, a group of CSO that advocacy for better health facilities within the country. We are working with the Ministry of Education to ensure that the health facilities are inclusive especially at the local level.

Inclusive awareness training in rural areas to both the hospital staff and the community persons with disabilities. The purpose for this campaign is to create an environment where all PWDs can access health services such as health care.
